Wayfinding and Signage, 2025

about

I applied my communication design strategies to create a system that transforms wayfinding into an engaging visual language. Through color, form, and hierarchy, the design guides visitors intuitively while expressing the museum’s creative energy.

overview

The goal of this project was to design a bold wayfinding system for a contemporary art museum. I chose Hudson Valley MOCA, a museum in Westchester’s artist district that lacked a distinct identity despite its central location. My focus was creating a system that visually communicates the museum’s character.

“Where Art Lives and evolves” captures the idea of art as an evolving experience shaped by place and perspective. Interpretive panels and directional signage combine modern black PVC with concrete textures, reflecting the city's industrial roots while guiding visitors with clarity
